Hey, I decided to try out a new template to help streamline the production of my webcomics.  Hope you guys like the new format.

I’m currently taking 2D Effects Animation, Senior Project II, and Animation Portfolio.  This is my last quarter in SCAD, and happens to the be hardest one I ever had here.  I’ve been really busy with a lot of things, building a porfolio package to send out to animation companies, finishing my senior animation, and learning the difficult craft of 2D effects animation.  It’s tough, I’m losing a lot of sleep, but I’m doing my best to get through all of this.

2D effects is pretty interesting.  It’s a lot different from the usual character animation that I’ve been doing in the Animation Program.  It requires a different approach to analyzing movement.  We’ve studied how fire works and currently that’s what we’re animating now.  Unfortunately my first test of fire had some problems that I had to fix, but he told us to just let go of our drawings and start over.  But it’s due Monday, and I need to get cracking on it on top of all of the other work I have now.

When I was up in Atlanta, my friend Brian let me borrow his copy of Shadow of Colossus for the PS2.  I really enjoyed the game, although I know some people didn’t like it and even my roommate Lilly had a few issues with it.  I know some people thought these giant, magestic looking Colossi was wrong…because they did nothing to your character and you’re just killing them for your own purposes.  But if you actually finished the game, you would find out the real message that the game intended to get out to the audience.

When I was taking webcomics class, I noticed that my professor really like saying this weird phrase whenever he was working or fiddling around with something.  Then later on it just kept happening at random moments in class.  And finally it was so damn contaigous that I ended up adopting that phrase for awhile.

Sweetwater is his nickname, and he believes he’s an asshole…but just between you and me, he really isn’t an asshole in person.  Well, not most of the time…heh.

For most of my time here at SCAD, I’ve been using my old HP laptop that I got around Feb 2004.  But since it’s now 2009, my laptop is on it’s way to being an expensive paper weight.  That old HP has already died on me twice, first a faulty motherboard and then the other where my HD was completely shut off.  I don’t usually ask much of my parents because they’ve spent a fortune on my education, but a new computer is something I really needed to do the type of work I’m doing now, flash animation, photoshop…and games.  ^^;;

And as of now, I’m typing from the very computer that Chad built for me…so thanks again Chad!

Oh chinese restaurants, how I love thee.  It sucked seeing that sign, a slap in the face, I was pretty hungry then too.  >.<

We just went to another chinese restaurant instead ^^;;
